The Biryani Boys celebrate Record Store Day 2020 with an exclusive release from Dark Horse Records. Chants of India is a double LP that captures Pandit Ravi Shankar’s musical exploration of Vedic Mantras and Sanskrit Chants; a departure from Classical Indian Raga Music we know and love. The album also marks another chapter of the beloved friendship between the sitar maestro and Beatles legend George Harrison. It’s a thrill to see this musical gem reborn on LP.

The Biryani Boys celebrate Record Store Day 2016 with an exclusive release from Northern Spy Records. Ravi Shankar: Live in Hollywood, 1971 is a double LP that captures the complete house concert including Ragas composed by Shankar himself like Raga Parameshwari. Accompanying Shankar is the innovative percussionist, Ustad Alla Rakha on tabla.

Also in attendance is George Harrison (The Beatles) who along with Shankar was inspired by the music enough to generate the spark responsible for organizing the Concert for Bangladesh later that year to raise money for UNICEF and awareness of the humanitarian crisis left in the wake of Cyclone Bhola.
