Outer Bridge Ensemble

The Outer Bridge Ensemble is a collective of musicians whose members continue to pursue their creative calling. The group took first steps in 2000 by Steve Hudson and David Freeman who became quick friends and musical collaborators while studying music at Mason Gross School of the Arts at Rutgers University. As the music grew, so did our collective. OBE is Steve Hudson, Mark DeJong, Mike Noordzy, David Freeman, Jerome Jennings, Soren Nissen, Carsten Rubeling and James Zoller. OBE is also all of the musicians who helped take the music to audiences around the world including Tom Buckelew, Simon Fisk, Steve Bernstein, Claire Daly, Aaron Young and so many others. As we reflect on twenty years of music and friendship, challenges and victories, we continue to learn from the music and each other as we forge new pathways ahead.

OBE and its members have recorded over 20 studio albums and have, throughout the years, opened up for greats like John Scofield, Medeski Martin and Wood, Roy Hargrove, Kenny Werner, Dianne Reeves, Christian McBride, Dee Dee Bridgewater, Don Byron and Jesse Cook.
